Number of digits
Firstly, number of digits is different each other.
IPv4 is expressed by 32 digits in binary, but usually exchanged to decimal number such as 99.48.227.227, and there are about 4.2 billion addresses.
In the case of Ipv6, it is composed by 128 digits in binary, usually exchanged to hexadecimal like 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334, and there are about 4.3 billion to the fourth power.

At this point, mostly IP address is IPv4.
But because we are running out of IPv4, IPv4 are being exchanged to IPv6.
It is said that IPv6 can be allocated to every cell of every human being.
