If you’ve learned technology, you may have heard SWAP. I’ll explain about SWAP today!
SWAP
SWAP is the name of function to move the contents of memory to hard disc, and one of OS memory management function.
Data to be swapped is stored at virtual realm, called SWAP File, and called back if necessary.
When data is called back to memory, CPU have to read SWAP File on HDD, so it take more time than on memory. However thanks for SWAP, CPU can use fast memory for other process.
